sixers

My first year in Korea I got way into the Sixers. I've always been a fan, but most of the past decade has been pretty grim. For some reason Korea reinvigorated my Sixers fandom. It was probably just because I missed home, and watching Sixers games made me feel at home. So for the past 3 years I've woken up early on each game day and watched them play via my nba.tv subscription.

The Sixers season ended about 20 minutes ago, and maybe it's because I've been drinking beer since 9am, but I'm not at all angry about it. It was a surprisingly good season. Any time your favorite team trots Spencer Hawes out as its starting center, you can't expect too much. But they did well and they were fun to watch and now I'm sad because there are no more 76ers games to watch for 6 months.

This is a blog about what I do in Korea, and watching 76ers games is one of my favorite things that I do. So I just wanted to make note of a great season. Oh, and Spencer Hawes sucks. He's terrible. He should never play another game in a Sixers uniform.
