Lately I've noticed loads of yellow dust. It's caked on every car. If I keep my windows open when I leave for work, by the time I come home there is noticeable residue in my apartment. The same goes for my desk near a window at work. So, today on my way to work I took a couple pictures of cars that were caked in this shit. Then, I went to work and my students told me that all this yellow dust isn't the yellow dust, but rather is simply some pollen that is quite prominent in my little corner of Daejeon. However, I'm not one to waste pictures that I've taken, and also there was this old Korean lady looking at me strangely as I took pictures of cars on the street, so I'm not going to let that happen without some kind of payoff. So, here are some pictures of dirty cars near my apartment!
This next one is special because you can see my reflection.
This next one isn't of dirty cars. Instead, it's of something I wake up to twice a week: my apartment covered in advertisements to various local restaurants.
While I'm uploading pictures off my phone, I may as well toss in some that pertain to previous posts. A little while back I went to Buyeo, and saw what ancient Korea looked like. Here's me doing that.
One more of Buyeo, because this really can be a beautiful country.
But back in Daejeon, it can also be a filthy country. Here's an overhead view of downtown on New Years' Eve. All the garbage is leaflets for various bars and places you can pay for sex.
Last, and probably least, here's a video of some middle school students. They were playing some bizarre game where one guy puts his head between another guys legs. Another student then runs up, jumps on the back of the bent over guy. The two who are now facing each other do rock, paper, scissors, and then the winner gets to flick the loser on his forehead. I teach some real world-beaters.
