You may have noticed the frequency of my posts has kind of tapered off over the past few months. There's several possibilities as to why: I've exhausted all possible topics to write about, I've spent too many nights out with friends, laziness, and all of the above.
I've tried to write some things. When the Phillies lost the World Series, I wrote a post about a student of mine who I've converted into a Phillies fan over the past 9 months, and how we bonded over them and so on and so forth. However, after re-reading it I realized it sounded like Rick Reilly or Bill Plaschke had written it-- in other words, it sucked. The high standards we (the royal we, the editorial we) have here at The Journey to the East prevented me from posting it.
Regardless, I'm in my final month now, only a couple of weeks before this experience ends and a new one begins. What's the new experience, you ask? Well, it's most likely half-heartily and unsuccessfully searching for a job in America, and then returning to Korea for another go round. You're welcome to join me.
