A few days ago my school had a game day. All the kids of each time period met together in a large room to play games and have a spelling bee. The other foreign teacher - a nice South African guy - and I were tasked with devising a game for all the kids to play. The game we came up with was to laminate squares with letters of the alphabet printed on them. We then hid them in each classroom. The kids were all divided into teams of 5 or 6, and had to find as many letters as they could. After they found the letters, they then used their letters to spell words, and received points for each word that they spelled.
Everything went well. The kids had a good time; the game brought out their competitive natures and they took it seriously. However, there was one downside to this game, which you can see in the following picture, that we really should have anticipated.
In case you are wondering, yes, I gave them points for it.
