new

The Lunar New Year came and went the other week. I assume you all celebrated in traditional Korean manner, that being ancestor worship and eating tteokguk.

I had off for Thursday and Friday due to the holiday. The country pretty much shuts down for a day and a half. Without much else to do, and not wanting to waste a surprisingly mild day in the midst of what's been a bitter winter, I went for a long, long walk. I picked a direction, west, and walked to the outskirts of town. At one point I walked through a long tunnel. It had a pedestrian sidewalk enclosed in plexiglass to ensure the safety of the un-motorized wayfarer. As I stepped into the tunnel some music came through speakers set up sporadically along my route. The music was the first movement of Mozart's Eine kleine Nachtmusik. (I had to look that up, I don't want to misrepresent myself as the kind of person who knows that title offhand.) I thought that was pretty nice of whoever was responsible for it, to provide some pleasant walking music. It made me wonder if most tunnels play music when you walk through them.

To make an already too long story short, I ended up walking for 5 hours, about 15 miles.

Since this was a major holiday in Korea, you know what that means! It's time for another installment of "What Wacky Gift Did Sim Get From His Employer This Time?"

Let's get right to it: soap. It was soap this time.
