It's that time of the year. Chuseok has once again come and gone. Once again I have received a gift from my employer to mark the occasion. Prior gifts have included tuna fish, spam, pound cake, melons, and cookies. This year I received a 3 piece gift set of Welch's grape juice. Happy Chuseok!
Chuseok came in the middle of the week this year, which was great because it meant I had five days off. I made use of my time by traveling to Japan with my ladyfriend. We went to Osaka and Kyoto. Here's proof:
My impression of Japan is that it's the best place I've ever been. It's just so damn cool. Maybe it's because I've lived in Korea for so long, but Japan really accentuates how homogenous Korea is. Walking the streets of Osaka at night I was struck by how diverse the people were, in fashion and attitude. In Korea everyone just wants to look like everyone else. The worst thing you can do here is stand out.
(Note: I thought I had posted this 3 weeks ago, but I took a look at my page today and saw that for some reason it saved it to my drafts and never actually published it. Anyway, I'm fine, how are you?)
